Tanya's Cabbage Patch Kids

I was 8 when the Cabbage Patch Kid craze was going on. My Mom said she would not spend that much money on a doll. After my Mom realized how much I really wanted one, She could not find one. My Mom did look for a Cabbage Patch Kid for me but she could not find one. I wanted a CPK so bad. All my friends and classmates all had a CPK and I didn't. A lot of them had not just one CPK but many and I was so jealous. I would come home crying so my Mom made me a CPK and I was so excited to bring it to school! My Mom even signed it "Xavier Roberts" and I thought I could bring it to school and play it off like it was a real CPK. I was very wrong! I can remember that day like it was yesterday. All the kids made fun of me and I came home just balling. I was so upset that I threw the doll away in the trash.
We were at K-mart once and there in front of my eyes, was a CPK. She looked so beautiful and I fell in love right there. I thought for sure that she was mine because my Mom promised that if we ever find a CPK, she would buy it for me. I grabbed the kid and was so excited as I ran to my Mom. My Mom said once again she would not spend that much money on a doll. I was so hurt and upset! I was so mad at my Mom for the longest time.
I never did get a CPK and I learned to live with it...KINDA

When my oldest Daughter was around one, We were at a garage sale and I picked up a CPK for her and she loved it so I started to pick up CPKs from garage sales and thrift stores. Ten years later, I do have a lot of CPKs and I love them all. I don't have any of the older ones that are MIB but I don't care. They are all priceless to me.
